Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson reportedly heads a list of actresses being considered to portray screen legend Marilyn Monroe in a new movie.
The 24-year-old actress is apparently competing with the likes of Kate Hudson, Amy Adams and Michelle Williams for the role in the film titled “My Week With Marilyn”, reports contactmusic.com.

Scarlett Johansson may be beautiful, but Robert Redford thinks she’s less than lovely to direct.
In “Robert Redford: The Biography,” due out in early November from Knopf Publishing, author Michael Feeney Callan says that the then-13-year-old starlet had Redford pulling his hair out in frustration on the set of their 1998 film, “The Horse Whisperer.” Although the director acknowledges Johansson’s talent, her paint-by-numbers approach to acting and overbearing stage manager mom proved to be a lethal combination.
A crew member from the flick tells Callan that Johansson put her own personal spin — or, rather, her mother’s interpretation — on her scenes, which conflicted with Redford’s vision.

Scarlett Johansson worked out and dieted like crazy to look good in the skin-tight lycra catsuit she wears in Ironman 2.
"I kicked some major butt," Johansson, 24, told People. "It was many, many, hours, days, and months of stunt training and strength training," says Scarlett. "But it's fun because I had a goal. The goal was the Lycra catsuit."
In Ironman 2, Johansson plays the gorgeous fictional super-spy Black Widow (a.k.a.- Natasha Romanoff). The role required the usually un-athletic Scarlett to do stunt work in several complicated acrobatic battle scenes.
"I think people are going to be very impressed when they see her," says Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau. "It's totally different than anything you've seen her do before."
Favreau was also impressed by Scarlett's dedication to the role. "She was wearing an unforgiving costume," he says. "[Scarlett] didn't eat much, that's for sure. She likes food, as do I, and she was definitely on a low-carb diet and training very hard. It was amazing."
Meanwhile, ScarJo's hunky husband, Ryan Reynolds recently landed the role of another Marvel Comics superhero: the Green Lantern.

Scarlett Johansson and Courteney Cox were spotted bonding at the opening night of the LA Shorts Fest ’09.
The “In Good Company” hottie and the former “Friends” veteran were more than happy to strike a few poses for the paparazzi while they chatted in the arrivals area.
And once again, Scarlett was displaying a new hue of hair- she elected to go back to her much-famed crimson coif following a brief bleached blonde look.
Both ladies were in the house for the premiere of the short film “These Vagabond Shoes.” Per the event website the film is described as- “The tranquility of solitude breaks through the cacophony of the city as a man makes his way across Manhattan to the sea at Coney Island - witnessing the majesty, magic and wonder of the city and its inhabitants, as they pass him by.”
